Two doctors, an energetic young family, and lots of relatives that drop by. It is a tale as old as time; the couple have been too busy with babies, jobs and life to look around their home and make it feel like one. They want a space that allows their family to live and play freely, and where their loved ones can gather and relax. But one that also feels like a tranquil escape from their demanding lives and piles of toys at the end of a standard Wednesday.
We used touches of color in natural and airy tones, mixed with neutrals and natural materials so that the palette felt spacious but warm. Flexible seating options, like poufs that stow under the coffee table, allow the living room to adapt; open pathways for games of tag, or added seating for family potlucks. This is space with lots of room to grow and connect. And to breathe.
